I'm a town planner by qualification and my husband manages the Strategic and Landuse planning division at our local council so this was extremely interesting Living in a western and developed nation we have more often than not missed the opportunity to find the balance between development, nature and culture. Its as if our society on a whole has lost that connection. (Part of the reason we prefer travelling to more underdeveloped countries - People are so much more connected...with place and purpose) Finding the balance is a battle my husband faces on a daily basis and often the outcomes are driven by politics, business and money which can be disheartening. Will be following along with interest to see how this project progresses.
