There's too much butthurt on who gets rewards...

...If it's a beatiful girl "ohhh she gets the money because she's got boobs"

If it's someone with a steem-related concept, whether steem-cakes, steem-clothing, steem-photoshooting, "ohhh it's a circle jerk steem vote"

If it's someone who made a nice intro and got a lot of upvotes, "ohhh why should an intro get that much - I mean OK but why so much????"

If it's known people, celebrities etc "ohhh why would you vote these people that already have a lot of money while others are getting 10$ ?"

If it's people who do nothing of the above but got known for writing their stuff and creating an audience / following over the last weeks, "ohhh but they get all the votes and whale support - it's unfair for all the others!"

If it's people who provide stats, gem-lists, etc, "ohhh they just copy pasted the stats or a few links and got 500-1000$ - that's unfair"

If it's people who got upvoted for a comment, "ohhh why did you make 100-500-1000$ for just a comment? This can't be fair!"

...so for every case, there's always something to bitch about... But in the end of the day it's just plain "butthurt".

@alexgr Here ya go, hope it helps!

I see from your level you have got something out of doing this. A lot of us have put quite a bit of effort in and rarely even get a single human vote.

Also I got an alert as soon as you posted this since one of my friends has you on a curation watch list. You will get votes no matter the content because of that alone. Maybe that butthurt is justified after all.

A lot of us have put quite a bit of effort in and rarely even get a single human vote.

Will that change if one is crying about how much others are making?

If enough people complain maybe they will finally make the system more fair.

It will never be "fair" if by that you mean rewarding effort instead of value. Subjectively evaluating and voting on value is at the core of this concept. If you find yourself consistently putting more effort in than the value you are awarded, then your approach still needs to be refined.

I've done the same of course, posts which I went to great effort to create have gotten cents back. To be honest I'm grateful for those cents, it's more than reddit ever gave me, and there is a lesson to be learned in why the posts did not take off.

That's a good point maybe we're too entitled but does need a bit more balance at least to be honest

The definition of fair may vary wildly depending the person... not to mention content subjectivity (which for some have an appeal, for others not so much).

I'm following you, so you'll always get my vote (but it's not work $100), and Yoda will too!
p.s I hope I'm not on your butthurt list!

No you aren't. But you may be on other people's butthurt list for the money you are making. They could be like "ohhh why does she get 100-200-500$ and I get nothing? That's not fair". Well, obviously you are doing something right but they fail to acknowledge that.

In order to grow, Steemit will have to host existing commercial material in some way. Professional writers will not go for random whale upvotes. Neither would popular artists, etc... so I expect things to evolve.
