My Knitting

Last year, I challenged myself to learn knitting from YouTube videos. I learned to knit a scarf and a beanie. This was the result.

This year, I did another project – another scarf and beanie. It was a present for my host in Benalmadena. He seemed quite pleased with it.

For my second project, I tried a new pattern. Last year’s project was a straight knit. This year, it was knit 2 purl 2, quite a challenge to being with. I actually gave up on it and revert to the pattern for the first project.

However, my friend who started me on the knitting, said to go with the second pattern. She said, it is no more challenging if I do the easy knit, and she was sure I will regret not doing the more challenging pattern later on.

So, back to the drawing board it was. And it took me a while to get accustomed to it. But once I got the hang of it, it wasn’t a problem. I was pleased with the results, pleased with my accomplishment, although the scarf and beanie wasn’t perfect. There were some errors in the knitting, but nothing major, and I was glad I listened to my friend.

So, I changed to circular needles. I found them a lot more comfortable.
