#upvoteplankton #ulog 6: Court training and babies!
Hi, how's you? <3
I hear that it's the vacation already for school kids in Canada and the US?! Wow, lucky!!
Our nippers in the UK break-up in a fortnight, so I am cramming career investment moves in before the inevitable onslaught of momma duty and subsequent exhaustion haha.
For example; was at the Crown Court this morning to get the necessary enhanced DBS check application for my role as a witness support service volunteer there. The DBS should prove that I am not a criminal to safeguard those I will work with there, unless I triggerflip mwahahaaaarrrr... (sorry, cheap gag).
This weekend was more chilled, I went to see a friend who lives in a beautiful gothic mansion in Staffordshire. As my former residence, [my room being on the front left overlooking the front garden, horses and driveway], it is a very special place and has a great vibe which has now gained itself a five star rating as a wedding venue. I shall be getting married here next April, to my partner of eight years, Al <3 My good friend is thankfully doing us 'mates rates'. That has to be another definition for FINANCIAL RELIEF. #DunwoodHall
Took with us some amazing macaroni that my partner had cooked, with a yummy +juicy garlic bread side.
BTW I did not intend for this post to sound snotty or middle class, as Boden is a pricey option for some, but not in the SALES ya hear! :) Meanwhile, lots of nursing babies...
I got her to sleep, she's so gorgeous ~ and my arms survived one hour of a snoozing three month old. Broooooodiness followed.
Plus soaking up the rays while the kids stuffed ice cream and had a paddle in the pool.
One friend has a two week old OMG, ADORABLE, but she had promised her five year old some time with her, so I took them strawberry picking to a local farm and later enjoyed a brief stop in the pub beer garden for an iced drink before heading home. Granny was kind enough to sit with baby for a wee while - how amazing is that support?! Although tbh, I am not sure I could have left any of my babies at two weeks young. :) Papooses rock.
So back to career stuff – I will train for three days now, at a place called: 33 Rockingham Lane, 'The Circle', which sounds adequately masonic for a court room training facility.
I can start working at the Crown Court as soon as the clearance check is done (DBS) and will commit for eighteen months or so, to get a good grip on it before I start my Legal Practitioner's Course (LPC), or complete the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) that may replace the LPC.
"Anything done well, takes time", which is tedious for impatient people like me, but it's going to be worth it when I graduate and start practising as a lawyer. Working in the criminal courts will definitely be an eye-opener whilst reducing my mandatory training period by 6 months. My intention is ultimately to enter tech law, but any experience helps, especially when you're a mature student with three kids and much competition to blow out of the water. :p
OK, keep the faith, enjoy the sun, "bottoms-up!" and look out for those quality Boden sales.
Love to you. xx
What a beautiful day there, and I hope your cold goes away! That photo of you with the baby is soooooooooooo beautiful @ontheinside, you are just glowing!! Welcome back Sis!
Thanks beautiful. I've been a bit poorly with inflamed tonsils and cough - I think I've had EVERYTHING the school gave to Milly haha. Good to be back.
Ahhh school = cesspool of germs!
