  • Neo, dubbed "China's Ethereum."
  • Based on coinmarketcap.com as of August 2017, it is now number 8 market cap at almost $2 billion dollars
  • The current price around $40 / coin
  • The price has gone up over 100% from a week ago
  • Which left people wondering "why."

What is Neo?

  • Neo, formerly known as Antshares. The ICO was in the fall of 2016, but the project started in 2014. It is a smart contract platform that offers more programming languages than Ethereum.
  • It essentially competes with Ethereum, and it sets out to address the same programs as Ethereum
  • Neo incorporated sharding and concurrency to address the scaling issues that Ethereum is experiencing

  • The demand for Neo right now, here are a few insights:
  • Only one exchange in the Western market offers NEO/BTC, and NEO/ETH trades has led to congestion in supply
  • Neo partners with many firms include WINGS and Microsoft

      It's got the power of the collective behind it, I think its more about nationalism than potential value at this stage. They have just finished the NEO roadshow and thats helped the value be propped up. The promise of GAS as a dividend for holding NEO was attractive but in reality its a pittance. NEO has a great team and loads of potential, its not worth this much, this quickly. Now the BTC is under fire from the BCH camp NEOs value may fall in coming weeks. All things being equal NEO is a great investment

      I agree with you. I like NEO but maybe not at this price.
