As a contemporary smoker you will undoubtedly have read and heard about electronic cigarettes. You may have wondered if it could be an alternative to regular cigarettes.

You can find a lot of information online but it can be extremely difficult to find correct information about electronic smoking. That's because much of what you read online is from webmasters who only interest in advertising revenue. Create a website and copy and paste some pieces of text ... difficult to do.

On just about every Dutch-language website about electronic cigarettes that today is the daylight, we find pieces of text back from our reviews, and this makes for thought. After all, you can ask the question to what extent our "concilies" really took the time to actually test the products. We strongly doubt this.

If you do not know what it is like an electronic cigarette, please inform the section "What is an electronic cigarette". Below we will try to explain some common concepts and indicate what exactly you need to get started and to ensure that your expectations are met.

A starter kit, but which one?
Just about all major brands offer one or more kits that contain all the components you need to get started. Such a kit is recommended. Not only is it a lot easier than assembling everything, it's also a lot cheaper too.

The minimum you need is a rechargeable battery, a USB charger and a number of cartomizers. You can spend up to 25 € on such a kit. Whether the minimum is also ideal can be questioned. If you choose this solution, please note that when your battery is empty, you will not be able to smoke the minimum battery charge time (2 to 3 to 4 hours). That is, of course, extremely annoying.

An ideal kit to start with contains at least 2 batteries, a USB charger, a wall plug and as many cartomizers as possible. Most kits of this type are equipped with 10 cartridge cartridges. You will receive 5 to 10 days on average. For such a kit you can spend up to 50 to 75 euros.

Important additional tips:

Choose a kit that offers you some options. Make sure you have a choice between manual and / or automatic batteries as well as the length of your batteries, the taste of the e-liquid and the nicotine content.

Preferably use a kit with both automatic and manual battery. From an automatic battery you just have to pull like a regular cigarette. With a manual battery, you must press (before) / during inhalation at the same time to activate the atomizer. The advantage of this is that you can instantly acquaint yourself with both concepts. Both have their pros and cons. More about this you can find here.

Make sure you choose at least 2 flavors or flavors of cartomizers. Not everyone likes all tastes. If you have accidentally selected a flavor that is totally unavailable, you will be there with your kit. A risk that you can easily turn off (if the supplier offers that option at least). Choose a tobacco flavor and not just exotic foods like fruit or candy.

Avoid the ultra-short or mini-e-cigarette batteries. Many vendors only offer a 'short' and 'long' battery in their kits. After a while, you will notice that you do not use the short quasi simply because they are empty too fast. A good standard battery has a minimum capacity of 250mAH. These have an average length of about 8cm. Together with the cartomizer they are a good centimeter longer than a regular cigarette.

If you do not know which nicotine content to choose, our rule of thumb is 12mg / ml for "light" smokers and 18mg / ml for regular smokers. For liquids with a nicotine content less than 12mg / ml, it often seems like just sucking air. Liquids with a content greater than 18mg / ml are punishable to many. If you have good hardware and good liquid then this nicotine content will undoubtedly be a good throat hit. The known stimulus that a smoker feels in his throat when he / she inhale a cigarette.

Finally, when you are sure of your piece, it is advisable to store around 20 cartomizers right away. This will prevent you from ordering after 1 week. 20 cartomizers are also the period you need to get used to the electronic smoke events - to get hooked -. In fact, incomprehensible that no supplier takes this amount of carts into his kits.

So, now you know what type of cigarette is best for you and what's best in such a kit to really get started. The search can begin.
