Thanks @tatjanastan for this chance to tell the world about my country Uganda and our sweet product is "Matooke" in English meaning steamed bananas and it is our main meal . Matooke is exported to Europe ,Asia and other continents .
stock-photo-bunch-of-raw-banana-tree-in-the-orchard-bunch-fresh-raw-green-comb-is-hung-on-a-tree-unripe-467228309.jpg
picture of raw matooke
Here in Uganda we prepare it pealed because matooke in the peel helps it to retain micronutrients that might have ordinarily been lost through cooking, making it more nutritious.

how is it prepared

Matoke are peeled using a knife, wrapped in the plant's leaves and set in a saucepan. The saucepan is then placed on a charcoal or wood fire and the matoke is steamed for a couple of hours, water is poured into the bottom of the saucepan multiple times. They add banana leafs at the top of saucepan so as to keep the leaf-wrapped fruits above the level of the hot water. While uncooked, the matoke is white and fairly hard; cooking turns it soft and yellow. The matoke is then mashed while still wrapped in the leaves and often served on a fresh banana leaf. It is typically eaten with a sauce made of vegetables, ground peanut, or some type of meat (goat or beef).
