The most popular vegetable in my country is 🍅 tomatoes 🍅. This became so popular cause it’s one of the popular other vegetables but I can vividly say it’s the most popular.
This is popular in the northern part of the country cause it’s been produced basically in the largest quantity there, the weather conditions there favours the growth of this particular vegetable
It is a perishable good and so it could only be kept fresh for a short while and will also retain freshness as long as it’s been refrigerated or processed
So talking about processing, this vegetable could be processed into other consumable products like tomato juice, tomato paste , ketchup .etc

Hello @tatjanastan, one of the most popular vegetables in my country, Venezuela, is banana. Native to Southeast Asia. It arrives to our American lands, coming from the Canary Islands, in 1516. Since entering the American continent it has positioned itself in my country and since then it has become one of the favorite dishes of the Venezuelan. In the garden of my house I have some banana plants and they have fruit. I will show you:
This vegetable is eaten ripe fried in slices. Like “patacón”, fried and crushed green plantain stuffed with cheese or meat stews, very popular in Maracaibo. Another way of eating banana is like banana balls, green parboiled banana is piled and balls are formed, served as a side dish of fish stews, prepared in the eastern region of the country. Typical sweets are also made with the ripe banana.
I leave to your delight the sweet banana "buñuelo" is prepared as follows: take 3 ripe bananas peeled and cut into pieces are placed in a bowl bathed with 1/3 rum. In addition, mix 1/3 cup of all-purpose flour, ¼ cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon of baking powder and add a beaten egg, mix well. The drained and crushed bananas are added to this mixture and it joins well moving until a homogeneous mass is obtained. Then, mix the balls and fry in hot oil.

This is my first time of hearing about this, so am just joining up and being part of the community. So i dont know if am permitted to contest, but not withstanding i would still give my take on this.

My Country is Nigeria and most popular vegetable is Tomato, the red tomatoes. It is used in preparing virtually all our meals from Rice, to egg to Amala (a local delicacy made from yam flour) to host of other foods. The tomatoes is sold in sets, set could have 4 or 5 tomatoes in it and could be sold for #100 naira... thats about 0.3usd. Sometimes with its in season it is usually sold for #50 naira. The tomatoes is usually grown in the northern part of the country because it has lands that supports its growth.
There was a time, probably two years ago when on of the giants business tycoon decided to start a tomatoes paste manufacturing company, this lead to alot of scarcity in the country where the price of the vegetable rose to more than 500 percent and people still go to the stress to buy it. This shows the level of dependant we Nigerians have on the vegetable.
