Uptrennd failing to be better version of Steemit

in #uptrennd4 years ago

Since Uptrennd started inviting users from other social networking platforms, they have been plagued by malicious users posting low quality content in pursuit of high rewards. Uptrennd staff is crying for community to help them tackle the malicious users, even though they limit moderation by normal users to 3 actions per user account per day. This means each of the malicious users only need to make 4 low quality comments per day to overpower user moderation.

Another problem with Uptrennd is the moderators of existing communities that post low-quality content. Users can't create own communities and are forced to use the existing ones, even though the topic of their post has next-to-nothing to do with the topics of existing communities.

When Steemit introduced resource credits, it was an epic failure as a lot of users ended up with negative amount of resource credits and couldn't essentially do anything. It was however quickly fixed by adjusting negative amounts to be zero, so the resource credits would accumulate faster.

Steemit allows users to create communities, but it will cost 3 STEEM. This makes it harder for new users to create large number of communities, but it isn't really hard to get 3 STEEM in rewards or buy 3 STEEM from exchanges as value of STEEM is currently fraction what it was for example two years ago.
