Students of the University of Bamenda who served as Earth Rangers during their internship say goodbye to The Greens and the Regional Delegation of Environment, Protection of Nature and Sustainable Development (RD-MINEPDED)
Last week Friday was a very interesting day for The Greens as her Founder/Executive Director @mr-greens joined the staff of the Regional Delegation of Environment, Protection of Nature and Sustainable Development (RD-MINEPDED) and interns from the University of Bamenda who have been serving at the Regional Delegation of Environment, Protection of Nature and Sustainable Development (RD-MINEPDED) and as Earth Rangers of the Earth Rangers Summer Holiday Program (SASH-Program) for over a month to say goodbye.
In a few words, “these students were awesome” and proved that they effectively learned as well as acquired enough knowledge from the community service initiative. They thrilled their facilitators by doing an artistic presentation of Climate Change as well as shared their experiences of the time spent serving at the delegation and as Earth Rangers.
For more than a month, these students have participated in trainings such as Understanding Climate Change, Waste Management, Community Forestry and Community Tree Nursery Design Construction and Management, as well as participated in community service initiatives such as the plastic drive at the Banks of River Mezam, Tree planting and the upcycling of plastic bottles into tree nursery pots.
We were amazed with the students’ output and can confidently say we are nurturing a strong generation of environmental defenders. They were immediately added to the Environmental Defenders WhatsApp Group so that they can stay connected with their facilitators and other Environmental Defenders of the North West Region.
The event ended with refreshment and family photos.
