Starting at 10:30AM today at the Steemit Literacy Center of @thegreens, the Steemit Training for Civil Society Organizations was attended by 11 volunteers of Civil Society Organizations, activists and freelancers.

Beginning with a word of welcome from the facilitator, Ngalim Franklin, @mr-greens the training started with a brief presentation on the history, origin and purpose of cryptocurrencies during which the participants learned about what cryptocurrencies are. This was followed by a question and answer session and then the second presentation which primarily focused on Steemit.

During this moment, participants learned about what steemit is and how steemit works, how to create a steemit account, how to blog, network and earn on steemit as well as learned about the do’s and don’ts of Steemit. It was quite an interesting training and the participants ended up knowing that their passwords are very important should never get missing.

They also had the opportunity to learn about Discord and Steem Chat, Curation and steemit groups like @ecotrain, @dynamicsteemians, etc as well as how to setup their profiles on steemit.
Content originality was strongly emphasized during the training and plagiarism frowned at. At the end of the 2 hours training, participants had acquired knowledge on the basic functioning of steemit and how to blog, network and earn on steemit. They pledged to immediately engage in account creation and were immediately added to our “Forest Friendly Family Steemit Group on WhatsApp” where they can be able to ask questions as well as connect with other Steemians.

While we wait for their accounts to be created, it’s good to know we will be having at least 10 new steemians join the Steemit Family and they will need your support.
The Steemit Literacy Center’s goal is to train and subscribe at least 100 young people to Steemit before the end of the year 2018. On the 31st of July 2018, we trained 15 persons and today we have trained 11 persons.
