Spinosaurus vs Tyrannosaurus
Recently
I sat waiting for dentist and there were some magazines on the table in
front of me: mostly about fashion, but dinosaurs were on the cover of
one. Opening it, I saw a huge image of a two-page spinosaurus and a
small inscription in the corner: Tyrannosaurus.
Well, I understand that Theropodas are similar to each other for an
inexperienced person... But the crest is on the back! Crocodile muzzle!
Posture at the end of it!
No, comrades, Spinosaurus - this is not T-rex. This dude has 15
meters in length and weights up to 16 tons, while the Big T is only 12
meters and weights about 10 tons.
There are many fans of confronting our extinct guys, who quite seriously believe that the forces are approximately equal.
No, no and no! The only thing that Spinny exceeds the Big T is the size
and fashionability (thanks to the crest from the best prehistoric
designers)
First, the probability of their meeting is extremely small, because:
- Spinosaurus lived in the Cenomanian-Turonian stage of the Cretaceous period, and T-Rex about 30 million years later - in Maastricht.
- If we assume that the late Spinosaurs still lived with the early Tyrannosaurs, they would have no reason to fight: Spinnys, like modern crocodiles, lived on the coasts, feeding on aquatic inhabitants, and the Big T usually hunted in the forests.
But if our guys still met and decided to compete for some carcass, then the victory will definitely be for Big T.
The main weapon is the jaws. The hunter against the fisher, the teeth of
the killer of large animals against the teeth-hooks of the fisher. A
crocodile snout would never defeat a super-predator.
When trying to run, Spinny is also doomed: his legs are much less powerful.
He is able to defeat a big T only in fishing and in Rock Paper Scissors because of more large front paws.
