Howdy Steemians!

I just wanna share with you some of the photos of Mactan National High Teachers Sinulog Halad (offerings) for Senior Santo Niño during its fiesta celebration last February 17-18, 2018.

The word Sinulog comes from the Cebuano adverb sulog which roughly means "like water current movement;" it describes the forward-backward movement of the Sinulog dance. The dance consists of two steps forward and one step backward, done to the sound of drums.

The Sinulog Festival is celebrated in honor of the Santo Niño, the Child Jesus, the Patron of Cebu and the Philippines and reminisces the time when Filipinos embraced Christianity in the 16th century. The word 'Sinulog' is from the Cebuano language adverb 'sulog'.

Halad” is a term from Cebuano and Ilonggo language which means “offering”, and “Halad sa Sto. Niño” means “Offering to Sto. Nino”.

It's been 3 years since our school offer halad sinulog dance to Senior Santo Niño. With all the blessings, gratitude and love that HE has given to us. It's an honor for us to offer such dance in honor of his glory. It's a thought of an activity as part of community involvement as teacher's.
