Forgiveness Is Medicinal
Forgiveness is an act of pardoning a person of an offense he or she has committed that deserves punishment.
When we forgive people who wrong us, we are not doing them any favour or good but rather we are doing ourselves a great favour. You may ask how do I mean?. Whenever we fail to forgive people of their wrong even after they have pleaded for mercy, we will only be carrying a burden in our heart.
Whenever we see such people, our mood changes because the things they did to us will flash back like a movie.
Where there is no forgiveness, there you will find all kinds of evils because in that state of in unforgiveness we are prone to harm each other because love will be absent.
Most of the cases of family members killing each other is as a result of unforgiveness of a wrong. The wars and conflicts we see between countries is as a result of pride and unforgiveness.
God is also interested in we forgiving others when they wrong us because if God should punish each and every one according to our sins then no one will be alive in this world.
When Jesus was teaching his disciples how to pray in the book of Matthew, he also taught them forgiveness
Matthew 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
That implying that if we fail to forgive others, God will also not forgive us our sins.
When we fail to forgive others, we are closing the ears of God from hearing our prayers because we have refused to do His commands which including forgiving others.
So let's learn to forgive one another.
