START SOMETHING SMALL TODAY---- TRY SOAP MAKING

in #untalented6 years ago

Many today after their university education, begin to look for job. This is a nomal phenomenon. But where are the jobs? Comparing the number of people who graduate from School and complete their National Youth Service Corps, you will agree with me that the number of applicatcants far outweigh the jobs available.

Due to this, many seek to delve into business. But a lot of people, if you ask them, will say they are constrained by capital, the money to start up a business. Little did they know that there are lots of jobs or businesses they can actually do with little capital.

Today i decided to make a post on soap making. This time, i will talk about liquid soap.
Soap is one of the essential materials everyone need to keep the house---- kitchen, bathroom, toilet, clothes, dishes and our cars clean. Every home needs soap, else the house will smell.

Before i tell you the preparation technique of liquid soap permit me to say that making liquid soap can lead you to being successful , and not on the hot sun looking for unavailable jobs.

I grew up and met that the profession of my mother was soap making. After my Secondary Education, i always helped her out, either to make the soap or go to the market and sell while she stays at home to make more for the next day's market. Now I make my own soap.
You can actually start the soap business with just N1200 (ten litres).

HOW I STARTED MAKING SOAP
I told you i grew up and met my mother making soap, so i learnt from her.(When i lived with her). However, she wasnt making liquid soap, i wouldnt know if liquid soap existed then cos we never bought soap. But now in my maritrimonial home It happened that one day, a friend asked me to join him for the training of how to make liquid soap. I joined and i learnt.

After making the soap, i didnt sell, instead i gave one bottle each to anyone who visits me and even my neighbours. When they finished it, even before they finish it, i kept receiving calls from them that the soap was good that they will be needing more,. I did not answer them. Do i produce chemical? But when their disturbance got out of hands, it dawned on me that if i start soap making business, i will sell. That was it. I started making and selling liquid soap. First in small bottles but now i also sell in gallons.

I started when chemicals for soap were sold for N900. The first day i started selling, i sold 21 bottles in about 10 minutes. I went to police barrack where one of those i gave soap as a gift the first time lives. She called the women and spoke highly of my soap and that was it. They cleared everything in 10 minutes.

You too can make your own soap and sell. If you dont want to sell, make it yourself the way you want, with fragrance of your choice and use. I dont buy soap in my house. You could also train people who have no job, they pay and you even turn it to a skill acquisition programme. Like i do for my School, after the JSS3 students have finished their final exams. The School organises them to come and acquire some skills. I happen to teach them soap making, Air freshner, Izal, dettol, hair cream, bleach, scurry powder, toilet cleaner and bead making . While some others take then in tie and dye, networking, web design, computer appreciation, bag making etc. You too can enrol in any skill acquisition programme near you as one of their trainers.

By now, you must be anticipating the methods of liquid soap making right? Here we go

LIQUID SOAP REQUIREMENTS.
i) Nitrosol or CMS.... The base ingredient.
ii)SLS
iii)Texapon
iv)sulphuric acid
v) soda ash
vi) caustic soda
vii) foaming booster
viii) STPP
ix)Fragrance
x) Coloring agent
xi) handglove
xii)nose guard
xiii) Apron
xiv)turning stick
xv) bucket of water
xvi) two small buckets and a big one

HOW TO MAKE LIQUID SOAP
STEPS
i) Put on your apron, nose guard and your hand gloves
ii) To a small bowl of water, add the soda ash and stir very well.
iii) Add just one spoon of caustic soda into the mixture and stir very well
iv) Add sttp, stir, add texapon and stir all very well. Keep aside
v) To another small bowl of water pour the SLS and stir. Put aside also. Some people add SLS into the first bowl but in truth SLS dissolves better in water than with a combination of the chemicals.
vi) To the bigger bowl, still containing little water, pour the Nitrosol and stir vigorously. Add sulphuric acid and stir. PLEASE this is an acid, it should not touch any par t of your skin. It is an acid.
vii)Pour the contents of the first and second bowl into the bigger bowl and stir all very well.
viii) Add foaming booster and stir. Dissolve the colouring agent in little water and stir. Pour in the fragrance. Add more water if too thick.
See! You just made soap! Just allow the foams to 'cure' (if i must use that word). It is ready, you can use it but if you allow just little time, it comes out so beautiful as shown below

You can pour into gallons and sell, Where i live 10 litres gallon sell N1600- N2000. You could supply your colleagues or anyone you know that begs things in bulk, those who sell food, hotels, hospitals, bankers, just anyone

You can also pour into small bottles, some people recycle eva bootle containers and use them for the soap. You can also get fanciful bottles and use. See below

With your fanciful bottles, you can look for anyone who wants to give a survenieur at weddings, burial ceremonies, birth days or those who want to give christmas gifts to families or colleagues. Once your soap is foamy, thick, sweet smelling, you do not need much advert.
You can continue in that manner, look for traders whom you will be supplying to sell for you. More so, register a name with the corporate affairs commission (CAC) depending on where you live so you can be supplying super markets, shopping malls and anywhere else without fear of being arrested. Many sell in their neighborhood and to colleagues even without registration. BUt to go viral with your soap, get a registered name.

NOTE...(i) .Keep chemicals out of the reach of children. Remember to separate your cooking buckets from the soap making buckets.
(2). Do not worry about how to know the measurement of the chemicals to buy, The traders selling the materials just need you to tell them how many litres of soap you hope to make. They know the measurement to give you. Use all except the caustic soda which should only be just a spoonful.
(3). You do not need to worry about getting a shop for soap making. Use your backyard , kitchen or bathroom,. Clean up when you are through.

I learnt about soap making sometimes last year. I think it's high time I started making money from it

I really like postings that contain information and knowledge, like this

Informative post. Rather than looking for white collar jobs, we can get our hands dirty. Dirty money don't smell

Making soap makes your hands dirty? It does make mine. Thanks for stopping by

I wish most Nigerian youths can see this. Most are waiting for white collar jobs to appear from no where. The liquid soap we use at home is homemade and it saves some costs (no more morning fresh and likes 😊). Thanks for sharing :)

Thanks for alluding to my post, i appreciate it

My wife makes our laundry detergent but there is a lot of really great info here thanks so much for sharing. I hope that more peopl take up this challenge!

Wow, i like that and i appreciate it very much, thanks

You did well with this post...keep on steeming good content like this always.

I appreciate you so much

As a youth, I am lucky and happy to have read this. What pains me most is that most youth lament no job when Infact there are several opportunities. It is just painful they don't look for them or apply them. Thanks for this information

May God help us all

You teaching of the soap making is more elaborative. Though it seems people use different methods to do it but the result is same.

I told you i have different method from yours. Those i have taught prefer this method cos the chemicals easily dissolve and there is no fear of having lumps in the soap.

You have a lot of potential but it would benefit you to make use of the @blue-pencil editing service. We are unable to use your post at the moment but as soon as the post is edited and up to our requirements we can support you.
