#UNTALENTED-ADJUSTMENTS: AMAZING ADJUSTMENTS THAT HAVE HAPPENED TO ME SINCE I JOINED STEEMIT @surpassinggoogle

This is my entry for @surpassinggoogle #untalented-adjustments contest, 'am grateful for this opportunity.

In the late days of September 2017, tales were told by wise men about a young boy from a far away land, who rose from the strangulating dusty planes of normal social media platforms to an edutaining and life transforming kingdom called Steemit , his name is @idunique.

Lost and confused in the ever frenzy and intellectually packed boaulvades of the steemit blockchain, with no skill nor talent, he board a yacht and sailed towards the west of the steemit community , there he met a good Samaritan called @surpassinggoogle. The good Samaritan will later help him to find his fit in the community, adopted him into the #untalented family, because in the #untalented family, one need not be talented or skilled to be accepted.

He also introduced him to his #steemgigs friends, in them, little @idunique have found companionship in the community.

Hereunder, are some of the adjustments or positive modifications the steemit blockchain has brought to my personality.

PATIENCE IS LIFE AND LIFE NEEDS PATIENCE.

Ponzi schemes came and gone, but left many with vagaries and memories that grew into a notion, not a good one though. It left many(me too) with an erroneous perception about value creation.

"Patience is power. Patience is not an absence of action; rather it is "timing" it waits on the right time to act, for the right principles and in the right way." ---Fulton J. Sheen

During the booming days of Ponzi Schemes, one needn't work to make profits. Most at times he just needs to give very little and expect more rewards within a very short while, it felt really good and we thought life was like that.

Some became used to such notion, funny enough some of us brought it into steemit when we joined, thinking it was a place to rip what you didn't do much work for, or earn within a short period of time. Hell No! The steemit blockchain is far from that. It sanitized my notion and imparted the consciousness of Patience, value creation and the need to work for whatever I want. It's awesome.

PERCEPTION ABOUT PEOPLE FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WALL/WORLD.

In one of the popular Talkshows "TED-TALK," I listened to *Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, a prolific writer, as she talked on a topic titled "Danger of a Single Story"
Summarily, she stressed the danger of having the wrong impression about people or a race, not necessarily because we have experienced them, but because of what we were told or what we must have heard.

The steemit blockchain has gone a long way in neutralizing such erroneous perceptions. It has brought me closer to people of different race, religion and orientation, and at each encounter or experience, I realize that these people are not really who we where told they are. They are good, Humane and sociable.

In Logic there is what is called FALLACY OF HASTY GENERALIZATION, whereby one could be tempted to draw a conclusion on the character of the whole people or race, because of the vices being carried out by few.

"The plain map of human powers and purposes, helps us not at all to thread the labyrinth each individual presents in his involution of feelings, desires and capacities; and we must resemble, in quickness of feeling, instinctive sympathy, and warm benevolence, the lovely daughter of Huntley, before we can hope to judge rightly of the good and virtuous of our fellow-creatures." --- Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley.

All countries or religion have both good and bad people, so don't generalize, don't think everyone is bad because one or few persons from there are bad, this is what steemit has thought me too.

RESPECT FOR PEOPLE'S OPINION, CHOICE AND PREFERENCES.

IMG-20171128-WA0022.jpg

The steemit blockchain has gone a far distance in helping me come in terms with the fact that different people have different perception and philosophy about life. When I go through contents or posts, I realize that somethings our opinions differ, but I have to respect that.

"Have a big enough heart to love unconditionally, and a broad enough mind to embrace the differences that make each of us unique." --D.B. Harrop

I remember before now, maybe on facebook, where I had to put up strong arguments to drive home a point that will never get home.. LOL. Especially when it had to do with religion or race, it really makes no sense.

Indeed 'have been a top beneficiary of this platform, and I look forward to learning even more. Thanks to @ned for creating this platform, and special thanks to @surpassinggoogle for bringing out time to host this contest.
