Making personal mailboxes with Daddy; a fun project! ♥
Over the weekend, my husband decided to do a project with the kids. They have been pestering for 'real' mailboxes to put up by their bedrooms, to help facilitate the passing of notes to each other.
Of course, they get notes from Mom and Dad too. ♥ It's a fun little thing we do to show love for each other.
My husband went outside and cut up some leftover plywood from a previous project. Thicker than we needed, but hey, it was already paid for.
After sanding off the pieces, we brought the stack of wood inside, and the kids began fitting the wood together.
They connected the sides using wood glue and finishing nails. My kids aren't exactly expert nailers, so Daddy had to get them started, but they got the hang of it quickly and did a fantastic job! :)
They all worked super hard!
After the building was complete, they decided such fabulous boxes needed fabulous designs!
My son is a huge minecraft fan, so he painted his accordingly.
They had a ton of fun and learned a few things as well. ♥ The mailboxes didn't come out perfect, of course, but they are functional, and the kids have been passing notes willy-nilly with them.
My oldest son did not feel like painting his, but it looks good au naturel.
My daughter's box is not finished yet. She is in the process of painting it pink, with glitter paint, and I think there will eventually be a unicorn on it...
It was a fun afternoon project that the kids and their Daddy really enjoyed! ♥
Thanks for stopping by to check out our cool project! Feel free to leave a 'note' in the comment section!
I hope you all have a lovely day out there in Steemland! ♥

Ohhhhh great love the notes to eachother and family crafting rules
Thanks! ♥ We love it!
I think families need to do this everyweek just one project TOGETHER
YES! Imagine how much closer families could become! ♥
It doesnt have to be expensive or anything either. They could make paper airplanes and have flying contests, do artwork together, or even build things out of scrap wood. ;)
Indeed snd with fall on his way, we are making things we find in Our beautiful nature.
Most important it's family time. Don't get that happening very often nowadays. Best part, they actually want to send messages to each other using papers and not via a device.
That's already a big achievement ! Thumbs up !!
Haha, I didnt even think about that! Yup, no screens! Actual paper and ink!
such a great idea!! I love mail! Sometimes in school, during holiday seasons there would also be put up a mailbox to send notes to people from other classes, it was so much fun!
Love it!
Note mailboxes are such a cute idea! And it's especially adorable that you all mail notes to each other XD We're all screen addicts here so notes are passed around on Discord. And those mailboxes are perfectly imperfect, they have character and love and they all look great (well I'm pretty sure your daughter's one will look great when it's done, the work in progress is looking good).
Haha thanks! They love them!
Yes, Im hoping she gets hers done soon, haha! She is rather destractible, and means to finish, but only sits and paints for a few minutes at a time...
