Unschooling and Entrepreneurship Have Given My Family the Freedom to Live the Life of Our Dreams!
My family of four is spending 6 weeks in Acapulco, Mexico. We came down for Anarchapulco and decided to stay for an extended period to check out the scene in Acapulco. We love it! We wouldn't be able to travel the world were it not for our dedication to unschooling, which is child and freedom led learning for our kiddos, or our entrepreneurial means of earning a living. In this video I take a moment to give thanks to unschooling and entrepreneurship and how those two lifestyle choices have provided so much freedom and joy for our family.

John, Chuck and I saw you one of the first days we were there. But you were with one of your little ones hosing off from the beach and I figured we'd run into you again. Never did happen. Happy for the joy you and your family have found. Chuck has three girls from a previous marriage. One of them is finally out of school since she's 18, but the other two are still deep in it. If it was up to us, they wouldn't be, but the mother is VERY indoctrinated and not at all a reasonable person. So, we wait until their "schooling" is complete until we can be more nomadic like you :)
Hey! Sorry we weren't able to catch up. I imagine its a struggle to have a co-parent that isn't like minded. Any struggles or BS from the public schools can be overcome with love and education at home. A child's mind can be immunized (hate to use that term but it works) to the indoctrination if they are allowed to be a free thinker at home. Plus, most learning takes place outside of school anyways. Life and experience are the greatest teachers.
Yes! Chuck is a very free-minded parent and always has been. He gives his girls a lot of freedom and teaches them about how to think for yourself - despite the indoctrination around us. Two of the girls now live with us full time - recently the 15 year old decided to live with us because she was being bullied by both her stepdad and mom. She has so much more freedom here and is making smart choices on her own at our place. She is so much happier - it's great to see. :)
