The discovery of the new bacteria may help to reveal how to farm in space. growing food in space would help astronauts to survive long and thrive during long space travels and and wile on the ground of a celestial body. Growing your own food is an important skill to have in general. I think everyone should at least have some basic knowledge and experience with it. I have raised beds in the back yard where I have been growing all kinds of fruits, vegetables and greens for the last couple of years. I would get into it if you haven't already.
