QS University Rankings for BRICS: In the latest edition of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) BRICS University rankings two Indian Universities have been listed among the top 10 universities across Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. With 300 varsities in the list including the Tsinghua University in China that has topped the list, many Indian varsities have managed to enter the top 100 in the list. These top Indian varsities include the IITs, IISc, state universities and others. The BRICS ranking has been compiled using eight different indicators, including the ratio of faculty to students, the proportion of academic staff with a PhD and the institution’s reputation among academics and employers. While the BRICS list is spearate, here we feature the top 10 Indian varsities in the list of 100 that was revealed by QS World University ranking for BRICS nations (Overall BRICS rank is given within brackets):
