The Universe is Way Bigger Than You Think part2 - The Sun
Our sun is a G-type star which means it is fusing hydrogen into helium producing huge amounts of energy which make life on Earth possible
On many occasions, I have heard people refer to Sun as a young star but actually Sun is 4.6 billion years old so in the middle of his lifespan of 10 billion years. After that Sun will expand into a red giant incinerating everything that would be on earth at that time and life on this planet will cease to exist.
The Sun is huge, so huge that it takes 99.8% mass of everything that exists in solar system and has 1378657km(856658miles) in diameter( Earth has 13000km). 109 times bigger diameter than Earths and u could fit 1300000 Earths into the Sun
this is how small we are compared to the Sun
The surface of the sun is about 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit (5,500 degrees Celsius), while temperatures in the core reach more than 27 million F (15 million C), driven by nuclear reactions. You would need 100 billion tons of dynamite to explode every second to match the energy produced by the sun
The Sun is located 1au(astronomical unit or 149600000km) from Earth and sunlight needs 8min and 20 sec to reach Earth but did u know that light is anywhare betwen 100000 and 50 millions years old when it reaches Earth. Light is created in Suns core and needs that much to reach surface of the Sun
Outstanding post. Very good job
Thanks for sharing
It was horrible
what is horrible?
bursts of geothermal lava
those are solar flares and they would be horrible if we didn't have ozone layer
Yes friends, then we must keep the ozone is not damaged
oh no!!......great topic..you shared ...
thank you..

very good post about our solar system..i love it.
thanks for this amazing topic@lasper.
4.6billion years old??, thats incredible
Very interesting, thanks for all the informations!
