This fungus can not be eaten because it is hard
This is a conk of one type of another. It is useful as medicine, but I'm not certain of the method yet. Thus far, I've only found one that was soft enough to get my knife through.

Ive seen people make jewelry from these liken . Very pretty the rainbow of colors😮
this is amazing, I found a similar mushroom in Virginia about 25 years ago while cutting the grass in my Mom's yard, it was growing by a streem and I saved it in a jar and still have it to this day
