The body of the corporation

in #ungrip7 years ago

For some reason people love corporations.  When I dug into the meaning behind them, my views quickly changed.  To begin with, corporation is the process of one or more people getting together to form a single body politic.  This body politic / corporation is then viewed by people and the legal system as a unique artificial person, with the capacity to buy and hold property, sue and be sued.  The problem is that the body politic is a fictional construct and legally is viewed as being dead.  On top of all that, the corporation can also take liability for any harm being done, leaving the people with limited liability or none at all!  This is like a child blaming their invisible friend for braking the window!  Did not work then, why is it working now?

Sir William Blackstone wrote in his Commentaries on the Laws of England (1765-1769) that the problem with corporations / body politics, is that this new legal entity needed a voice so that it could be heard in court.  That is where the lawyer comes in as it is this individual's responsibility to speak for the body politic.  In legal terms, the body politic is dead, unable to speak and as such it is the lawyers duty to speak for the dead body politic.  So what does this say to people who hire lawyers?  hmmmmm  Is this why people are not allowed to speak when they have a lawyer?

So now we have this fictional construct that is treated like a dead body / a corpse / corpus.  The root of the word 'corporation' is corpus, so a corporation really is a 'dead body' unable to speak.  This is true as a piece of paper cannot speak for itself.  So we made masks to wear so that we can give these dead bodies a voice!   How many masks do you have?

So what were these corporations created for?  The main purpose was to give people the capacity to enjoy perpetual succession.  Normally when somebody dies, their authority, state and all property then has to go through a process of probate so that the executors can divide up the estate to any surviving family or friends.  This process can take a long time, so the kings and popes decided to use a corporation to hold all the property / kingdoms / demesne instead.  That way the holder of the corporation could continue and enjoy the perpetual succession of the property within the corporation without all the assets being held up.

The problem with this idea is that now a dead body starts to accumulate tremendous amounts of wealth.  In nature, when a body dies, the resources of that body are then released into the environment so that other living organisms can recycle and reuse those resources.  This perpetual birth and death cycle is a critical component to nature and all life on this planet.  However, greedy and powerful men decided to use their law to their advantage and try to break this cycle.  That way the wealth accumulated during their reign can be passed on to their successors without much difficulty at all and without any resources or wealth returning back into nature.

Over a few thousand years, these individuals can end up owning ALL the wealth of the world.  These corporate bodies are not allowed to decompose and as such they are placed in perpetual inanimate conditions.  They are preserved for all time so that the resources are kept by the elite and are never allowed to return to the land for others to use.

This is the foundational principle behind what is happening with the one world government and its multi-national corporate conglomerate that is sucking up the wealth of the world.  This is the reason why a hand full of people are richer than billions upon billions combined!

If we want to resolve this inequity, all we need to do is allow dead bodies to decompose as nature intended.  No more perpetual succession.  It will have profound consequences to our political, economic, financial and even military empires.  But in my opinion, these bodies need to decompose if we want to resolve the poverty we see all around us.  The wars, greed and power will decompose with the bodies that were used to contain it all.  The implications of this idea are immense and should not be taken lightly.  But to allow dead bodies to not decompose is not natural and it is a foundational violation of decency, peace, love and natural law.  To squander resources away so that nobody else can use them is the worst type of covert violence their is.

To make matters worse, psychopathic individuals are the ones attracted to the power, greed and influence of these corporations and instill their own morals within the organizations.  There is a great documentary 'The Corporation" that speaks to this and how dangerous it can be to allow these organizations to continue to influence all aspects of our lives.  We don't need to kill the corporation because it is already dead.  All we need to do is let them decompose and let nature take its course.  This is not a violent act at all.  Just reasserting natural law into our lives.

Thank you. I'm glad to hear you are enjoying my blog. Lots more to write about. Enjoy! If there is any subject matter that you have questions about, just let me know.

But there is one problematic thing about corporations, and that's public ownership of stock. That makes it easier for big corporations to gobble up the smaller ones, and the result is that now we have about five mega corporations owning and controlling all mass media in US.

So I would support Congress doing something more about that, since the current anti-trust laws obviously aren't strong enough.

I liked the independent newspapers we used to have in America, most of which were family-owned, not owned by a few mega corporations.

I agree. As the rich get richer, they can buy the world. Public utilities and other entities are then purchased to privatize the profits and socialize the expenses. I'm not convinced that changing the laws would help as most governments have now been infiltrated by the corporate elite and they now control the coercive power of the state and use it for their own protection and profits. That is why sites like this are important as it allow for discussion and awareness outside of the halls of power in Washington or even Ottawa, London, Moscow and Beijing!

Most excellent explanation, stay as far from the system as possible.

Great post. Thanks for sharing 😬

Corporations aren't the problem. There were almost no corporations until the year 1900, and things weren't exactly great; child labor, people working from dawn to dusk, no labor laws, etc. Even amassing wealth in one corporation isn't something new, as back then there were tycoons who had so much wealth that they controlled entire industries.

So your claim that abolishment of corporations would somehow end poverty really makes no sense. On the contrary, corporations are good at providing CHEAP products, and thus increasing EVERYBODY's standard of living. I mean who makes cars, flat screen TVs, cellphones, etc.? Corporations do, and so make everyone's life easier.

Corporations cannot make anything. People do. It is not the corporation that created cheap products, but rather our ingenuity to create technology like assembly lines, robots and other manufacturing processes that make the cheap products. Corporations are fictional constructs and have no life, no body, no soul, no mind, no feelings.

The concept of the corporation was first used by the Pope and Kings of Europe hundreds of years ago to hold their claim over the land. As such it placed everyone into a landlord / tenant relationship and removed their access to the land. This relationship is what creates poverty as we no longer can be on the land without somebody wanting their rent. This forces us to then participate in the game to pay the rent and the cycle continues. It then allows a small hand full of people to hold titles to land that they cannot possibly hold physically. Without the corporate structure, it would be impossible for the uber rich to even exist as they don't have the resources to maintain their bloated empires. If we are really interested in eliminating poverty, the solution is to remove the middle man and get people back to the land with no land lords, teach them the skills that have been lost and provide the tools for their own independence.

I agree with you that the tycoons did amass so much wealth they controlled everything and it was their greed, disconnect and corruption that created the problems that you speak about in your first paragraph.

BTW, I don't think they have many corporations in Cuba, Venezuela, Iran or Iraq. And things aren't exactly peachy there, are they?

Are you familiar with the book Confessions of an Economic Hitman? Conditions are not peachy in lots of countries because there is organized efforts to undermine the political, economic and financial systems of those countries in order to control them and their resources. If those countries don't comply they assassinate or even invade those countries. This is done for corporate greed, power and control!

How do we let them decompose? I dunno if the men in suits would do that very easily. So how do we the people do it?

The guys in the suits will resist, but we can dismantle the corporate empire by no longer feeding it our energy. It is a non-violent way to shut it all down. So we moved off grid and provide for the vast majority of our needs for ourselves. Our dependency on the corporate empire is nearly zero. (with the exception of the internet and small amounts of fuel). It will take time, but the more people stop doing business with them, the more of them will go out of business. they have taken over every government in the world, so passing legislation is not going to be a viable option.

Yes and we are all corporatized when registered at birth! Hence, the attempt to create psychosis in every human living in a bankster controlled country. Thanks for the great post!
