Founder of the Principality of Hutt River passes away at the age of 93steemCreated with Sketch.

For those who are not familiar with the Principality of Hutt River, it is an interesting story that started in 1970, nearly 50 years ago.  Leonard Castley was having some issues with the Australian Government over wheat quotas which significantly restricted the amount of wheat they their family could sell on market.  Yes, this is very similar to what happened here in Canada with the White Paper regarding the Federal Task force on Agriculture.  I wrote about it last year in my blog post "Moving back to the old traditional methods of growing food".

Well, Leonard Castley decided to secede from the Government of Australia and form his own principality. He called it the "Principality of Hutt River" and while no government would formally recognize his actions, he lived his life on a principle that he believed in.  Yes, there are lots of legal issues with this man and what he did.  However, he made a point and I support him in his efforts.  He has since turned over his sovereign reign to his son a couple years ago and two days ago, HRH Prince Leonard passed away at the age of 93.

There is a lot of information on line if you want to dig into this 'micro nation' and the ripples it caused within the Australian government.  We need more people like HRH Prince Leonard!  He stood up against the beast!  May Creator welcome your spirit my dear brother and may your vessel rest in peace in the bosom of Mother Earth.
