The system is more centralized than it claims to be. Simply compromise the developers, and you can push through protocol changes that work to your advantage. Sure, a few people might resist, but as long as you own the name, your changes will be the "real" version and their refusal to change will be a "fork".

The perception of legitimacy is everything. So it has always been.

Any changes to the blockchain require a consensus from the witnesses as well. Not an easy task. That is why voting for witnesses is so important. There are 14,000 of them. Vote for the ones that will hold the integrity of the blockchain!

I learned something useful here about witnesses. If steemit is around long enough I might learn a way to have a positive influence. Always learning.Thank you
