RE: What is your Currency?

in #ungrip6 years ago

I spent the better part of the 80s and 90s fronting what is now known as the "green movement". Back then it was Zendik and Earth First! bringing this information to the table. I was in the Zendik camp. On the streets every week with my zine, telling everyone what they did not want to hear: that their lifestyle was not just killing them, but killing the planet.
Yes, we were blunt about it. But we were literally hammering information into people that they spent the vast majority of their lives avoiding at all cost.
Anyway, it's good to see that the perspective is changing now en masse. We first had to influence influential people. Then wait for them to influence the masses in general. But it does seem to be happening, albeit quite slowly.
Humans do need a medium of exchange to conduct their social and cultural structures. I'm impressed with the alternative that crypto has provided. But it also needs to be less energy consumptive, if it's going to replace the philosophical and environmental impact of fiat currency.
