RE: The day Treaty Six died

in #ungrip7 years ago

The nêhiyawin are a resilient people who have managed to survive despite Treaty Six. I have always felt that we have done to the First Nations people is a great injustice and it time to make things right. The greatest mistake the "Queen" made was to take the lands and force the nêhiyawin to live on reservations. That was the beginning of the mistreatment and abuse.

Almost two centuries of the violence and coercion is going to take sometime but it needs to start now.

I agree with you my friend. <3 Thank you for your support in my work to bring awareness to these issues. The sad part is that we were all caught up in it as our ancestors were also colonized too. We just don't have any memory of it any more because it was such a long time ago. But the trauma is still passed down from generation to generation! Now we must heal that trauma and rebuild a paradigm of peace and prosperity.
