How to Make a Payment with Coinbase Commerce

This is a guide on how to make a payment with Coinbase Commerce. According to the Coinbase Commerce Medium post, Coinbase Commerce defines their service like this:

Coinbase Commerce is a new service that enables merchants to accept multiple cryptocurrencies directly into a user-controlled wallet. Our mission at Coinbase is to create an open financial system, so we’ve designed this solution to serve merchants worldwide. Unlike previous merchant products we’ve offered, Coinbase Commerce is not a hosted service, so merchants have full control of their own digital currency. 

As you can see here, Coinbase Commerce's major customer is merchants. So, I , as a customer of those merchants, couldn't get enough information on how to use this service. Whenever I googled how to make a payment with 'Coinbase Commerce', All I could get was how merchants can easily get digital currency as a payment. 

So here's the guide:

1. Get a payment link from the merchant.

2. Click and open the link.

3. Fill in the information. 

**Merchants can choose the information they want to get from the customers, there are three options: Don't need any information, full name, email address. Please note that if you don't fill in your information at the beginning, you won't be able to get the receipt after the transaction is made. 

 

4. Select the currency. 

 

5. Make a payment with the currency you selected.

**The amount of payment is locked-in for 15 mins and the wallet address is changed in every 15 mins. Please make sure to make a payment in 15 mins!

 

Then you will be able to see that your transaction is verified and completed.

 

You can also check the result of your transaction on the website. And if you click the button next to the transaction detected or transaction confirmed, it goes to the Etherscan page of your transaction.

 

If you are working in the finance team, you might worry about whether or not you can get a receipt for this transaction. After you make a payment, the receipt will be sent to the email address you fill in at the beginning shortly. No worries!
