Opining While Dining ( idea for a column, maybe?)
The UN and International Criminal Court have turned a blind eye to Western war criminals, particularly of the Western European persuasion, for most of their existence; Actions then would have stanched the growth of many a demagogue now, or an impeachment eight years ago of the war profiteers from the Bush/ Cheney adm. Phenomena like Trump and the Tea party are what happens when you embolden a large but latent, violent, and right-wing swath of the populace. By failing to take those kinds of action against their ideological masters; against the war-crimes of Reagan and two Bush presidencies; the Democratic Party has inherited those legacies, and has co-mingled their hands with the blood-stained hands of their alleged political rivals.
Woulda, shoulda, coulda. Better late than never I guess.
