Umran Malik: Career & Biography

Umran Malik is an Indian bowler who has raw speed and an explosive pace. He's from Jammu & Kashmir and made his debut for Jammu & Kashmir in the 2020-21 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. His debut came on List A Cricket in the 2020-21 Vijay Hazare Trophy.

The 2021 IPL in 2021, during the 2021 IPL, Sunrisers Hyderabad lost their key bowler T Natarajan due to him being diagnosed for Covid Positive for Coronavirus, Umran Malik got the chance to play the IPL debut.

His debut came with the Kolkata Knight Riders and bowled an 151.03 Kmph delivery, a rate that no Indian Bowler had ever reached in the current season.

He beat his record after bowling a 153-kmph delivery to Royal Challengers Bangalore. In the same match He clocked a variety of deliveries that were more than 150 kmph.

About Umran Malik

Randhir Singh Manhas, Umran's coach, took him on as a ward when Umran was only 17. Umran was at his home at Maulana Azad Stadium of Jammu where he had a meeting with Manhas at his Cricket Coaching Centre.

Mahas says that at the beginning Umran was lazy and did not seem to be very efficient despite their natural talent and a passion to play.

Manhas Umran, who is called 'Rajan Sir among his students, shared that Umran was selected as a player for his U-19 Jammu & Kashmir Team, however, he was not given the opportunity to play. Manhas further states that Umran improved his speed by playing tennis bowls as well as playing regular cricket with a tennis ball.

Umran, who was dropped out of class X and was born into the humble family background, was never difficult to learn Cricket but his father's help helped him to progress.

Ajay Ratra who is the current coach from Assam also a former Indian cricketer was awed by Umran after Umran was playing in the nets at the Ranji Trophy Match.

It was a totally opposite turn for Umran when the former Indian bowler Irfan Pathan took the former Indian bowler as a step-son.

Pathan believes that although Umran was a fast bowler, however, his bowling technique was in need of some tweaking.

He wished to allow Umran an extended time to exercise, but he was unable because of the repeal from Article 370.

Umran Malik Career

Umran Malik was a part of the limited-overs team from Jammu and Kashmir in Early 2021. He was a raging force both in the ODI as well as the T20 format, and was able to make it into IPL 2021 as a Net bowler because of his consistent fast bowling.

Umran Malik IPL

Following an injury sustained by T Natarajan, Umran received the chance get his T20 debut against KKR in which he set a record in the the fastest delivery of an Indian fast bowler. He then broke the same record against RCB during his next match.

Umran Malik dismissed KS Bharat during the same match against RCB for the first wicket of his IPL career. He picked up another wicket in the next game in the match against Mumbai Indians.

Attracted by his speed and Rawness The Indian selectors have decided to choose Umran Malik to be a net bowler in the coming T20 World Cup, where Malik could gain valuable experience and exposure bowling skills batsmen such as Rohit Sharma as well as Virat Kohli.
