Hobby On The Road - Irish Crochet Chrysanthemum
Continuing on the theme of hobby on the road, here's something I made sitting in my caravan somewhere in England on a very rainy day...
An Irish crochet chrysanthemum brooch.
After discovering this technique of crocheting I needed to learn how to crochet different elements such as roses, petals, stems, and all sorts of other little things.
So I went online (where else?) and looked at some videos.
Here's the video on how to crochet this Chrysanthemum flower:
After making the flower, I kept thinking, where I could use it...
... and then I found a safety pin lurking in a corner of my crafts box....
... so I thought, why not making it into a brooch?
Long story short, I think it looks great on my light blue cotton summer dress. :-)

It looks lovely as a brooch @vliet !
Thanks @cryptocariad , it was one of those surprise moments when I tried it on :-)
Woah that flower is fantastic! How long did it take you to make that? A lot of little petals to make there.
Thanks, @foxyspirit ! It didn't take too long, just a few hours :) Surprisingly, it's one of the simpler Irish crochet elements to make.
I love Irish crochet. Your broach turned out lovely! And yes it does look great on your sweater.
Thanks @fiberartists !
I also find that Irish crochet is something very special, if done right, it can look really amazing!
Absolutely brilliant. What a delightful way to spend a rainy day. Yay.
And thanks for joining the Ultimate Crochet Contest
