#Ulog no.15 - A Day At Sharjah Archaeological Museum

in #ulogs6 years ago (edited)

It is very interesting to know about the history of the place where you learn to love each day. By doing so, you will also come to understand more about it and its people.

Sharjah is one of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates. It is situated north of Dubai, the country's center of trade and industry. People from different nationalities live on this emirate as the cost of living is far cheaper than Dubai.

Artefacts

The ancient people as we all know started using stones. From stones, they learn to make potteries which they have used to store food and other important things.

UAE is very rich in gold. In ancient times, they used to adorn their horses with these pure gold ornaments which also symbolized social status of its owner.

People

Before tall buildings and modern houses have risen in this place, UAE was a vast place of desert land. To lessen the humid and horrid temperature, they used to build their homes with woods, clay, and hays.

The above photo shows the place where they put the dead body of someone during their time.

The following photos show how their deads were buried and laid in peace.

Ever thought what are those white things laid over the deads? They are pearls that adorn a dead body of a woman. This may also show that the woman is from a higher social status.

That was a fun and information-filled experience day with the kids and I think they, too, had learned a lot of the place they can call a home away from home.

That is all for now. Please feel free to leave your comments and suggestions down below.
Until next time and many thanks for dropping by.

Love this post, although I've never been to an archaeological museum myself, I find it very interesting, so in the future I must pay a visit to one of these museums if nearby my home

I can say that it was really worthit to visit museums like this. As an expatriate we have to learn about the culture of our host country to better understand and respect the people and their traditions.
