I could feel the excitement and energy of all this! You must have so many things going on with it all. I spend a lot of time at the marina near my house and love it there. It's a pleasure boat marina - no commercial boats, but there's that sense of anticipation and heading into the wild zone. I talk to people and ask them where they are heading or where they've returned from. One guy told me they just got back from Alaska. I don't know how many miles it is but it's really far from here. What sort of fish do they catch? Are there pirates? :)
Hi @rossfletcher thanks for stopping by. 😊 Yes it's a hectic few days and a big scramble to get the boat ready. I'm not normally involved as I'm not employed by the company but sometimes I'll help hubby out if he's got too much to do. They take on 20tons of fuel and 20 tons of water and that's without the bait that they have to load. They work about 600 nautical miles offshore hence the long period away from home. They catch a variety of fish here of which I don't know the names at all I'm ashamed to admit but they are all in French.. 😂 When I was younger and the kids smaller I used to go to sea with him for a trip or two every other couple of months. But the trips he does now is too long and shipping laws have changed too much over the years. If you go down in my feed you'll read about our experience when his boat sank in 2002. It's a dangerous job but someone's got to do it. Glad you enjoyed the post 😊
