Hi guys and happy weekend. So away from the normals today I wanted doing something different for the weekend.

Okay Taraja P. Henson has been getting all the accolades lately in Hollywood with recent productions but none has reached the heights of this two movies Acrimony and Proud Mary. So maybe acrimony would be for some other time, but for today let's get to the facts in this movie......

Controversy As Usual

If you are a fan of taraja you would know her movies are most times controversial and this one wasn't left out either. From dating a fellow colleague Tom, to going against the gang's rule by bringing Danny to stay in her apartment, to threatening her employees are the least amongst the list. This lady is indeed brave.

Mordern Day Slavery

Well slavery could be dated back to the Bible. This is an act of one completely owning or gaining control of another human in which here wasn't different. Benny and the wife here to me were nice foster parents no doubt but it got out of hand when Mary(taraja) was told she couldn't leave the gang and I quote in Benny's words "I own you". Well do people still own(slavery) people in today's world?? You tell me.

Happiness Over Everything

While some depend on many to get happy, others took the other way out by *finding happiness wherever it were and Mary was the later here. From Love to work to family, we saw that Mary was always looking out for herself first before thinking of the consequences. Remember taking in Danny, asking to leave the gang, even turning down Tom on the second approach, all these just to get herself going.

Mary is Danny's Mum

Hehehehheheeh Yeeeeeeaah I know this might come as a shock to some, others might have thought the same thing, and some won't still yield to it. But lemme point facts as to why I believe Danny is Mary's kid. Remember Mary grew up and married in the same town with Danny??. Remember when Danny was telling Mary her mum left him when he was very young cos Dad was such a mess. And why would she come back just to kill Someone's Dad and leave the kid alone and also kept tabs on the kid....... *THINK!!. The man was a bully and trust Mary(in this movie), she likes revenge!!

Family Over Everything

Well some say family is where you find love, peace and happiness but to other's, blood comes before anything. Look at the risk Mary took on her job taking in a kid to her house. Trying to make amends for what she did years back she decided quitting her job, one that's not quitable and she was even referred to as a "slave". Trying to start up a new life with the kid and even wiping away her foster home just to be with her kid again. Well it's true when they say "blood is thicker than water "!!

Conclusion

Well this movie is an action/thriller pack you don't want to miss. Two hours of unlimited fun is all a movie lover could wish for. This movie centers on sacrifice and the price one has to pay to actually be "free", and who else would have interpreted the role perfectly other than Taraja. Yeah so it's weekend, if you've not seen this thriller head over to the cinema and grab your popcorns before entering the movie hall. Or still you can download it online but don't miss your popcorn either way lol.
