Unexpected trip
Believe it or not, I'm going to be traveling to Ecuador next weekend for a few days. It kind of happened out of the blue, and if it wasn't because my family paid for the ticket, this would not be happening. I'm looking forward to seeing my father, having a chat with him, but I'm a little nervous too.
I've been a little under the weather for a couple of weeks now and I don't really know exactly what's happening. Some days I feel good, like I'm over the hump, some others I feel like there is something definitely wrong. It could be my diet, it could be something simple, but It could be serious and I rather be safe than sorry.
So this, as much as I would like to say it's a pleasure trip, its not. I'm going to be visiting Doctors and getting all the exams I would need to calm my nerves. Why would I leave the US for medical? Real simply, because I can't afford healthcare in my home country, and with $200 I can do absolutely everything down there. Here, $200 would get me a consultation if I'm lucky.
As you might imagine, I don't have medical insurance, so I'm one of "those people" but being self employed, and having a financial year full of challenges made it to where I closed my company officially, and of course the rest is self explanatory.
Trip aside nothing changes, I'll be around, I'm taking my laptop and I'll be in touch of course with the community of course. I am probably going to cancel the radio show, but that's to be expected as the internet connection down there might not be that fantastic to begin with.
Anyways, just took some medicine, took a nap, I'm feeling a little better... Hopefully I'll get down there, get checked, and they'll just tell me to go home and drink more water. (which I'm doing btw)

meno I hope everything turns out OK. I can understand where you are. I am retired, and next year they tell me If... me and the wife keep our health coverage the monthly bill will be $2,000.00 a month. Really, how does anyone afford this.
My youngest son is married to an Hungarian girl, and they traveled back to Hungary to meet her parents. My son was hospitalized with food poisoning and the bill he had to pay the hospital for two days was about $200.00 USD. Try that in the US! (:

I hope and wish for you that its nothing more serious than stress and exhaustion. You do a lot of work, and perhaps keto is not as healthy for you as you believe? Be safe, have fun and know that piggy will take care of evvveryyything.

Brother , go get yourself checked , take a rest , have a talk with dad , some wine with mom... it will all be fine .. you know I'm also around for a chat if needed , it's quite easy to reach me out and it doesn't always have to be over @helpie matters , we are brothers first of all .. I know you know.. but just putting it out there. :P

Stress caused by financial issues are never easy and take a toll on your body. I can relate remembering my dad years ago. Hope you can make the best of the visit. I wish you the best and safe travels!

Have a great trip fella, I'm sure there will be nothing untoward. Stress produces all sorts of bizarre effects on the body so I'm sure when you get through the crap you're having to deal with, you'll start perking up.
