ULOG #1------SPECIAL VISITORS TO OUR PORCH
We are so surprised and delighted that Mommy and Daddy Robin have decided to use my Mother's front porch as the most awesome place to build a nest and then lay four eggs. Low and behold we have four very special Robin babies, chirping with their tiny mouths open waiting for a worm.
All day long Mommy and Daddy Robin fly back and forth, looking for a worm, checking the babies are safe and feeding the babies. We watch Daddy Robin grab a worm from the garden. Chop it into four pieces with his beak on the driveway. Then fly up to the nest to feed four hungry little mouths.
Waiting for food on a hot day makes you very very tired.
Hopefully we can be here to watch their first flights into the wild blue beyond. Just when you think the world is out of control the Universe provides ample reason to keep believing that it truly is A WONDERFUL WORLD.

Is that not just the greatest thing. I can not stop watching them. Fortunately for us we can see Mommy and Daddy out the kitchen window being ever so busy. The babies have gotten so used to us, going in and out the front door all day long. I was so worried about them yesterday in the extreme heat and worried for them now as we are about to get a nasty storm and that nest does not look secure on the light. I wish they were in a tree.
Robins are so friendly and can be quite tame.
Especially when you are digging over the garden and there are worms about.

many thanks...I am driving them crazy for sure, I keep peeking at them. Everyday they are getting bigger and bigger. One was trying today to get out and mommy came and sat on him. lol. such fun to watch.
