Ulog #44: First School Closure (of many to come) Because: Snow
Bwa hahaha I love Nova Scotia!
I've loved these last 5 winters since we moved here. It's how it should be imo. Yeah, you don't get much done, but there is more to life than work and school, I hate to break it to yas.
.
.
People here just get by with a lot less. Our needs and wants are very small and simple as a general rule.
Nova Scotians are extremely down to earth. It's a great way of life here, most shops don't open on Sundays either, another thing I find very cool... #onlylifeimportant

#ChickenBitchez Photo Shoot
Okay, this is just sad right? All hiding under the deck with the scrap metal and other garbage. I promise the next part of the photo shoot will be more dignified than that was.

Some Pretties
I'm glad you had a fun day in the snow. :) I personally am a suck it up buttercup person, but the rest of society doesn't agree!
:)
shut er down, less car accidents. all our roads here turn to ice and very quickly, which is really the reason. salty ice that blows in from the ocean. we keep our people safe..and no street lights anywhere other than the city.
I get it.
My view is weather is normal. Carry on with life.
But I like the way you said it too.
Yes weather is normal. But I have lived in two different provinces. In the big city where I came from there are thousands of snow plows and salters and sanders. Here in a very rural province they have not got as much. Nevertheless its like I said not the snow or snowing. It is severe icing on the roads. Treacherous some of them in good weather. Single lanes of twisting and winding along the coast. I came across two yesterday in the ditch, two minutes from my home. Imagine now a school bus in that ditch or better still on the other side of the road, off the cliff into the ocean. When it rains and it freezes you put your life in your hands going out. So...........it is not how I see it, it is how this Province sees it. Life is not always about a 50 car pileup in the storm because you had to get to work. Just saying. I think its smart and our car insurance rates are half the price here. I like it. :)))
Very cool LB! I agree with the Nova Scotia "shut er down" way of life. I remember when I was there and we were coming back from the greatest lunch I ever had @ Johns Lunch and we hit a little traffic jam on the bridge around 1PM on Friday. I asked what was going on and you told me that its an unwritten thing that on Friday some people "fuck off and go home" on Friday and its no big deal! I tell everyone I meet about that and no one says anything but good about it!
shhh. Nova Scotia is Canada's best kept secret.
OOOH Henny, doing her little turn on the catwalk. WERK, chickenbitch, werk. XD
Colorado is generally in the "hahaha, go to school," category. And people get MAD if shit shuts down. I was working at Home Depot - which is a logical store to stay open as long as possible into the snow because suddenly everyone with a pickup remembers they need sandbags so they don't fishtail down the road (how do you live here and own a pickup and not keep those on hand ALL THE TIME, I don't know), and shovels, because also apparently people don't remember it snows until it actually does.
But then they get angry when we run out of sandbags and shovels. Like, it's not my fault you and two hundred other idiots put it off, asshole, don't yell at the cashier. We have ten thousand other heavy things you can buy, like concrete bags, and go get a garden shovel if you must. Relax.
What a wholesome slice of life.
Don't forget to mine some Bitcoin to keep the chickens warm!
this peacock is so royal and proud!)
the snowman is great!
half-dirt half-snow - it's just like here in the Crimea, frost and snow is kept very little, and all the beauty becomes dirty trash;)
photos of snow are amazing, dear!
<3
Great pics of the flowers. I love that too in the winter. I am from Colorado so we suck it up. It doesn't snow like it use when I was little. As long as you have a four wheel drive we suck it up. I do envy the way it is for you. Especially the Sunday thing. That is the way it should be everywhere.
School closure already!? WOW! That sounds very early. I wonder what will happen let's say in February :D Will it be closed for the full month?
Shops closed on Sunday is what I love on Switzerland. There is NOTHING opened except of gas stations and train stations. And the shops close earlier on Saturday and generally there are no shops open later then till 8PM.
Your chickens looks so healthy! Great job!
And I agree with you with not cleaning the garden. It is so nice to see how it develops over the year :)
Thank you for sharing another day of the Bowes family with us ;)
The first year we lived here school was cancelled most of February, it was AMAZING! And they didn't even have to go in the summer to "make up" for the lost time.
I'm happy hearing the Swiss like to relax on Sunday as well...so good for the soul.
Lucky them! I remember we also had it closed at least once a year but only for a couple of days.. which is still more vacation :D
Yes! I think it's important that everyone can spend time with their families and Sundays are mostly the only days when the family really can get together..
@lyndsaybowes, Simple life and simplicity holds the greatness for sure. And these pictures are reflecting beautiful with essence of white art of nature. Stay blessed. 🙂
