Ulog writing 001: The Cookie Jar.

I believe, most mothers ought to qualify for sainthood. Their significance in the world, is just wonderful. Mothers, they raised us, while our fathers were out, winning bread, and for the early years of our lives, we learnt by watching and listening to them. Most of the time, they said a lot of things that our young minds couldn't understand then. Why the hell, would she tell you not to go to that party, when all the kids on the block were going? Well, that's because, she knows something you don't.

Mothers, always the first to notice when you're up to something. So when she said, "Kate, I know you're tempted to take a cookie from the cookie jar, but don't. At the right time, you will, and it's worth waiting for". All Kate heard was, "I don't want you to do something fun, even though everyone around Is doing it", and she detested her, for that.

When our young mind is told not to do something, the urge to do it automatically starts growing inside your head, faster than the normal rate, 10ft tall, and higher, until it's all you can think about, it dominates, and you give in. So Kate went ahead and took the cookie, when mom was away. It didn't taste good, and the experience was awful. she thought then, she should have listened to her mother.

And when the repercussion of your actions come around, who's there to try and make things right again? Mothers.
