Feels like fall: ulog #13
After a few weeks of scorching humid weather and then smoke from wildfires enveloping our town, it's finally cooling off. It rained for the last few days and today it was gorgeous. The kids were not in the mood to do much, so I kept busy by decluttering. Went through all their clothes and got rid of what doesn't fit. Cleaned the closet under the stairs. Made some chicken and dumplings in the crockpot.
I love fall, but it always feels like it comes too soon. I'm ready, yet not. I want pumpkins and Halloween and apple cider but also mild sunshine. That's not what we get here. We get 100 days in a row of wet, cold and dark. Ha!
Tomorrow is supposed to be high 70's and sun again, so we're meeting up with a friend of mine at the park and we'll attempt to hike some trails with the kids. I think it should be fun. The twins are really into nature and exploring now. I love watching how excited they get over the littlest things, like a lady bug or an oddly shaped rock. I can't wait. One last summer adventure before the fall.
