Ulog #14 - A belated Happy Father's Day post

Hey friends,
This is a neat little polaroid shot last Sunday which now sits on my desk.

Aren't they the best? 😍

It's always nice to receive a special bit of recognition and love which Father's Day gives the occasion for.

But what's really nice is that (for us anyway) we don't feel like 'special' days like these are what we do to somehow make up for any other times we might have been neglectful or too busy or absent. An established pattern of seeking to do good to one another consistently is better than having great big peaks and troughs in a relationship. Sure, some may say that having the wild highs and lows is more fun. But that's no way to build bonds that are enduring. Not everyone is interested in doing that, but we definitely are.

It means special days-more often than not-remain as special days. Rarely for us do they degenerate into extra-stressful and anxious days - as they can so often become for too many people. This isn't to suggest that we have it all together and in order all the time. But the good days and the good times definitely outnumber the hard ones by a wide margin. All in all, I wouldn't trade my family for any other. Thank God I can say that!

I know there's still something on the way for me in the post. I'm really looking forward to finding out what it is! Perhaps I'll share about it when it arrives.
