Ulog #036 : "Mom, we're home!"
Yes! We are home. That after more than a month of hospital stay, finally, my mom got discharged yesterday and if she can speak, she would want to THANK everyone who have offered a prayer for her recovery. For that the whole family is thankful.
Pneumonia for the elderly is nasty and can be deadly. My mom's stroke didn't help as well where she was unable to cough out her phlegms. For that it warranted multiple admissions to the intensive care this admission.
The morning of her discharge.
As we woke up with anticipation on taking her home, our family have high hopes that home care is the best for her recuperation, surrounded by family.
She said a proper word for the first time in months today which surely made our day! I hope that this is the beginning of her recovery from stroke last July. We will take one day at a time.

That's good to hear your mom is feeling better and can now recuperate at home. Pneumonia for the elderly is definitely serious. I'm not that elderly yet but was unfortunately to catch pneumonia a few months back. It was terrible, so I know she was probably going through tough times.
Being home and back with family is the best treatment. Hope she gets healthier by the day. :)
Those plugs are nasty don't they? Difficult to remove even when intubated.
Anyway, Home is the best place for now as she recuperates.
