ULOG no 25: Having a nice evening as a family

Yesterday evening was a very special one for me and other members of the WVED family. The truth is, it was a really hard time for two of our kids at WVED. They were supposed to be holding their visas to the United States for a youth program they are supposed to be part of but things did not go as we would have liked. They were denied the visa all three of them and so will not be attending the event. It was not the best sight to see them so heartbroken at the outcome because they were very excited to travel to the US and be part of this event.

They even lost their appetites and refused to eat anything. I really could feel their frustration and disappointment because i have once passed through thesame but they were just kids and that made it a more heavy burden for them to handle. We tried cheering them up and encouraging them that next year will present the chance again. All we said really did not get to them and they just spent the day watching TV and distracting themselves.

So it was evening time and my older siblings decided to do something fun to cheer the kids. They went out and brought back some roasted chicken and fries. They then went into the kitchen and prepared the whole thing spicing it up a little. The sad day turned into one of fun as we all started digging into the meal as a family. We all talked and laughed at the table as we digged in and in. We really had a great time and i could not help but applaud my siblings for the great idea. It really cheered up the kids and they were cheerful to a certain extent.

These are examples of the moments in life that we will hold cery dear to our hearts. It just made me realize that family is not only by blood but any group of people that love and care for each other, share and have fun are family. The whole atmosphere and setting just makes everyone at that moment family. It was a cool evening and we really had a great time.
