Chinese for you
It is the time of "Chinese for you"!
Today I want to introduce a Chinese character to you, all my dear Steemit readers.
Please look at the above picture! Do you know what this Chinese character is in it?
Yeah, it is 官, in Chinese 官 is a noun, which means "official". As the name suggests, official is a powerful person having the official authority or sanction.
Chinese character belongs to a kind of pictographic writing system--a graphic character used in picture writing.
As shown below!
目means eye, 羊 means goat, 土 means soil.
Many times, Chinese character is a very interesting ideogram, too. An ideogram is a sign or symbol that represents a particular idea or thing rather than a word. The writing systems of Japan and China, for example, use ideograms.
Being an official, if you gain a lot of money for private interests by making use of your public power improperly, the final result may be to put handcuffs on you. Everything can be a double-edged sword, especially power.
In the first picture, you can see the round copper coins with a hole in it--the ancient Chinese money, and you can also see the the round handcuffs--in prison.
I wish you all have learned how to write the Chinese character 官 now.
