ULOG: #29 (12 September 2018) - Freshly Flavors, Mushroom Carbonara For Dinner
I cook Carbonara this evening as my roomates had requested it. Carbonara makes a wonderful dinner, simple, satisfying and ready in 20 minutes.
Ingredients:
1 tbsp olive oil
200g/7oz dried spaghetti
100g baby shrimp
350g kimball mushroom carbonara sauce
freshly ground black pepper
Salt to taste
Method:
Bring a large pan of salted water to the boil and cook the spaghetti according to packet instructions. Drain, reserving a little of the cooking water.
Heat oil in a large frying pan, then add the baby shrimp and cook for 3-4 minutes or cook until it's brown. Add salt to taste. Then add the mushroom carbonara sauce and bring to heat for 5-10 minutes until the sauce reaches the desired thickness.
Drain pasta "al dente" and toss with the sauce for 1 minute. And it is ready to serve. Top with freshly ground pepper.
You can add with parmesan cheese of your choice, the sauce was already deliciously thick and rich.
What a great bonding again. It is a perfect dinner for all ages. Simple, confident and incredibly delicious.
