#ULOG 438 - Daily Thoughts - 15 Aug 18 - Homesteading Today...

Good Morning, Steemians! :D

It’s a grey and gloomy morning, looks like more rain is heading our way, its mild temperature-wise though 21 C, so I’m not going to complain. :D I’ll just Mother Nature to send some sunshine in time for sunset pictures, pretty please, with a cherry on top. :D

Our handsome grand-puppy Shadow (1) and his dapper dad Dakota (2) watching a frog hopping through the wet grass, Shadow is almost on top of the poor thing, I had to yell to stop him from running the poor frog over. :D

The hens all searching for fresh worm and bug activity after a break in the rain, they’ll be joining the big girls and Red our rooster in the big coop tonight. :D

Billy (1) and Joel (2) enjoying their breakfast before heading out to play in the mud. :D

Princess (1), Candy (2), and Leroy (3) all ran over to greet me this morning. Intellectually I know it was only because they wanted oats, but it still made me feel loved. :D

Belle was too busy eating her breakfast, before the rain arrived, to pay any attention to me. :D

The rain has stopped, at least for now, hopefully we’ll get to see the sun for a little while before it comes back, I did ask nicely Mother Nature. :D

Its getting dark out there again, more rain, those silly chicks and chickens are going to get wet. :D

Our handsome grand-puppies Tiny (1) and Shadow (3) napping with their dapper daddy Dakota (2), they must have tired themselves out running around their dog run because none of them woke up when I walked into the bathroom to get this picture. :D

Chores are done, puppies and grand-puppies have all settled down for their nap, so that means I can play my Blizzard Game, World of Warcraft (WoW), I’m working on my Battle for Azeroth (BfA) fishing skill here, I've got it half finished now and will probably finish it off tomorrow or the next day. :D I love the artistry, not evidenced by this picture sorry, but believe me its there, in this expansion. :D It looks like real fish and people swimming in the water, its very cool. :D

I went to go check on the puppies, grand-puppies, and herd a little before lunch and saw something weird happening with Joker but my mind didn’t grasp what was wrong right away, just that it was wrong. I had to go out and help Joker he’d somehow caught his collar between the toes of his left front hoof so that every time he lifted his head it would jerk his left leg and every time he’d step down with his left leg his head would get jerked down. I managed to get to him without him trying to get away and possibly hurting himself, and thankfully untangled his hoof and shortened his chain temporarily. :D My husband will do a permanent fix when he gets home. :D

Candy (1) and Belle (2) were enjoying their lunch just out of frame from Joker and had to have a picture just for themselves, and they look pretty as a picture, at least I think so, LOL. :D

A rose, Princess (2) between two very handsome thorns, Buddy (1) and Leroy (3), happily napping in the front pasture this afternoon before the heavy rain and hail showed up. :D

Here I am discovering the South Seas in WoW BfA this afternoon. :D

I thought this bit of sunshine through the clouds meant I was going to end up getting some sunset pictures tonight, but it was not meant to be because shortly after I took this picture the sun disappeared for the rest of the day up on our mountain, which was sad, but at least we had it for a few minutes. :D

It started pouring down when we were driving into town this afternoon to get some groceries and run a few other errands, we even had hail, it was crazy there for a few minutes, you couldn’t even see the river right beside us, even the guardrail and trees only a few feet away were blurry in the heavy rain.

Crossing the bridge into town and so glad I brought my rain jacket. :D

By the time we left town the sun appeared and disappeared in town, too bad it wasn’t out up on our mountain when we got home, I thought it looked pretty through the clearing clouds and drying rain drops, even with the power lines. :D

Crossing the bridge on the way home again, we’re heading back into the dark sky and rain. :D

My husband and I decided to take our grand-puppies Mya (1), Tiny (2), Shadow, (3), and Lady (4) and their mom for a walk to visit their uncle’s gravesites, foolishly we didn’t think about the fact that we hadn’t put the gate on their fenced in area yet and they would all have to go through the house after they were soaking wet but extremely happy, LOL. :D

As we were all going down the path Princess (1) stopped mid sip of her cold beverage to stare at us, Belle (2) was indifferent and kept eating her supper, and Candy (3) only glanced our way for a few moments before going back to eat her supper. :D

Here they come on the run, our beautiful grand-puppies Lady (1) and Mya (3) and their handsome brothers Tiny (2) and Shadow (4), to check on their grandma (me). They don’t like it when I get out of sight. :D

Here comes our pretty puppy mom Karma, she was wetter and wetter every time we saw her come out of the woods on our walk, but she also jumped into the trenches on the side of our path to get herself extra soaked, then she shook as I was taking the picture and ran into the house through the side door and right back out the front door so she could get the cookie my son was luring all them outside with, so they’d get a chance to dry off a bit. :D LOL. :D
Sorry there aren’t any sunset pictures tonight, but we didn’t have any sunset to photograph because of the rain, maybe tomorrow night we’ll get one and it’ll be extra stunning. :D
