#ULOG 424 - Daily Thoughts - 01 Aug 18 - Homesteading Today...
Good Morning, Steemians! :D
I can’t believe we’re at the start of another month, this year is flying by so quickly. Its been a very nice summer weather-wise, not too hot, nice breezes, lots of sunshine, and a few good rainstorms to help cool things down when needed. :D
I woke up this morning, opened my eyes, and saw our handsome grand-puppy Tiny (2) staring at the birds out in the front pasture, thankfully he didn’t wake his beautiful sister Mya (1) or she would have woken the others with her barking. :D
Our beautiful grand-puppy Lady was sleeping soundly, until I stepped over her to take this shot at least, in the doorway, she loves to guard the doorways. :D
The sky is cloudy and dark blue, but thankfully there’s sunshine shining through those clouds. :D
The girls were still a bit tired when I got out there this morning. :D Candy (1), Belle (2), and Princess (3) didn’t get up until I had the coops opened, the tubs refilled, and the oats all ready for them. :D Its nice to have a lazy, lay in bed, or in this case on the ground, a bit longer day occasionally. :D I know my husband and I really enjoy ours when we have them at least. :D
Our sunshine is being swallowed up by the clouds, hopefully it’ll make it back out again later though. :D (It did make it back out, well at least a wee bit of it did, YAY! :D)
Billy (1) and Joel (2) must have been very tired this morning because they didn’t wake up until I was half finished milking Belle. :D
The boys, Billy (1) and Joel (2) enjoying their breakfast. :D
Joel (1) throwing food at Billy (2) to get him away from their food dish, it didn’t work though, LOL. :D
Look, Joel wanted a close-up this morning. :D He’s so cute, even with his breakfast covered snout, LOL. :D
My husband put one of the chicks (arrow) in with the adults as a test to see, a) how the chicks would fare in the bigger coop with the adults, and b) to find out if the chicks could get out of the big coop/chicken run, thankfully she looked fine this morning and seemed to get along well with the other girls. :D
Princess (1) and Candy (2) settled right down for their post-breakfast nap as soon as I finished milking Belle and she was back out of the barn. :D
Belle was in a mood to mosey and graze for a bit again this morning. :D I thought this chick was going to follow her and she might have if she hadn’t gotten scared when I stepped closer. :D
Joker (1), Leroy (2), and Buddy (3) were having a lazy lay-in day as well. :D
Some of the chicks going for a walk this afternoon. :D
We need to keep the chicks’ wings clipped because they can get out of the big coop, here’s the proof, cheeky chick, LOL. :D
I went to take a shower this afternoon before we headed into town to run errands and found a large, but very adorable hairball around the floor of my shower, Karma loves to sleep in their and was very reluctant to leave it, LOL. :D
My handsome husband weeding the garden bed while he waits for Belle to get to the barn for this evening’s milking. :D Leroy (1), Joker (2), and Buddy (3) enjoying their supper in the pasture behind him. :D
