Ulog#2 - Briefing For The SK And Barangay Election
Hello friend, sharing how's my day revolve 'til sunset steals the warm light.
I woke up earlier for the home chores and went outside for photocopying of two valid id 's as a requirement to become a member of the Electoral Board of the /SK and Barangay Election.
The briefing was scheduled at 1PM so I had my early lunch with Fish Inun-unan and Ampalaya With Egg.
The venue was set at Lapu-lapu Central Elementary School.
I arrived earlier like many others, as usual while waiting for the time, pictorial took place.
Me, @georgie84 and @sawi, they are my close buddies in school
And @jenessa who is my co-team to serve in same precinct together with another colleague.
The briefing was mainly conducted by the Lapu-lapu City lawyer in the discussion of the General Instructions G.I.).
Attendees learnt that:
- That SK voters are from 15 years of age to 30 as ammended and a voter can vote for both SK and Barangay officials and be given two ballots as indicated in a system-generated list of voters, referring to voters with asterisk on the list
- That if only the the surname or first name is written, the vote is valid if there is no other candidate with same name of the same office
- That if only first name is written and read with the sound the same with the surname of another candidate, the vote goes to the candidate with the surname
- That in case two persons with the same names for the same office, better write the nick name
- That if same surnames are written in different lines of the same office with same number of the running candidates, the votes are evenly distributed to the candidates; but say for example there are only two surnanames wriiten but the candidates are three, votes are not counted
- That if type-written are the entries of the official ballot like a cut-out from the sample ballot and just pasted, it is invalid
- That if only surname is written and running candidates have same surnames, the vote goes to the incumbent
There are a lot of rules in the Appreciation of Votes, that we need to review in the GI. I need to read and comprehend them. The ballots to use this May 14 election has a date last October 2017 which was the supposed schedule. DO NOT ERASE the date otherwise it will become an invalid ballot as per memorandum released.
