Ulog: #4 Why I like to Write

I mentioned this in my first ulog, but I did not always like to write. I started to enjoy writing when I was older.

Before joining Steemit, I used to post often on forums and some social media websites. I used to comment heavily on Reddit. I liked reading and responding to post topics and other people. I had a game where I would jump to random Reddit posts and see if I could comment on something.

Eventually, I had the idea of writing articles. At first, I was not sure what I would write or how I would do it. I started to write and post articles for HubPages. My first few articles were not exceptional, but with feedback from other writers and the HubPages editors, I got better with time.

My writing needed some work, and I needed to improve on some things. Often the editors told me I needed to write better sentences or they found many errors in my writing. So I needed to improve my writing and come up with better topics. I started to work on both of these issues. I took an online writing class, and I spent some time reviewing grammar. I still need some work, but I have made progress.

I have found tools online that help with my writing. Here is a list of tools I use if you are curious.

I like writing about technology and video games. I spent years learning about both subjects, and if you ask my family, I spent too much time playing video games.

Right now my goal for Steemit is to focus on technology-related subjects. One of the main things I am currently writing is answers to search questions. I am using an SEO tool called AnswerThePublic that I mentioned earlier. I look up subjects and answer questions about them. I then pick a topic and write an article about it.

I like the freedom of choosing easy topics on Steemit. HubPages tends to be on the stricter side, and I feel a little limited in choosing topics there. I am focusing on writing for Steemit.

I doubt I will be writing anything stellar that is going to be on Steemit trending anytime soon. I try my best and put lots of time an effort into my posts. There will be no shit posts from me (maybe).
