ULog #2 - Some Fun from Housesitting

in #ulog6 years ago

This past week, I spent four days housesitting for my friends. They went on a family camping trip in Southern Utah. These people are good to me throughout my young adult life, so I felt accepting the request was a way for me to giveback to them. They gave me a list of tasks around the house, which included taking care of their dog.

I could tell the dog was upset because it did not get to go on the trip with them. I couldn't even get him excited to play with his favorite toys and games...

For me, it was an opportunity for me to catch up on some of the nitty-gritty organizations in my own life since I was not in the comfort of my own home. At my own place, I tend to spend more time goofing around on the internet than actually checking off lists of to-dos.

When night rolled along, I decided to put my stuff downstairs in the basement, where the guests rooms were at the residence. When I opened the door to the basement, I was greeted with an unexpected surprise.

The entrance of the basement was clogged with balloons! Due to their dedicate nature, they all started rolling down the stairs the moment I opened the door. I was unaware of the contraptions my friends had set up before they left on their trip.

I spent some time trying to herd them into a more manageable mass in the family room downstairs. The whole process probably took me about 30 minutes.

When I finally finished, it looked like this.

Yeah, there were a lot of balloons. I even accidentally popped some while moving them. I didn't know what else to do with them, so I left them there until the end of my stay. I thought it was a nice gesture from my friends.

The dog, on the other hand, did not seem to appreciate the road block. Good thing it is a three-story house with more than one entrance to another point of the house.

Once the balloons were settled, I headed to bed.

Anyhow, I thought it would be fun to share this random moment in my life this last week.
