#ULOG 1 Nana Died at 97 Years Old

We were born in this world as babies; helpless and incapable of surviving in our own strength. But God didn’t miss a thing when he created us, he arranged everything. He made sure that someone will cater our needs when we were brought into this world, and that is our parents. Parents have a tough assignment ahead of them. They have to make sure about the safety of their children aside from supplying their needs. Raising a child is indeed an arduous responsibility.

I believe that parents, especially the mothers have the instinct in providing security for their children. And, when they’re away they make sure that someone will watch their kids.

Growing up with both parents working, I experienced being taking care of by someone, who is not blood-related, but she’s no stranger to us. She’s an old woman. She became our stay-out nanny for a few years, I can’t remember how long. Yes, she needed to watch not just one, not two, but three kids. The good thing is, kids during those days were way more behave compared today. I was around 6 or 7 years old back then, so I don’t need that much pampering anymore. My two younger brothers, @iyanpol12 and @atongis need more attention than me. @atongis was just a toddler that time.

Remembering Nana

In our dialect ‘nana’ means aunt, but we usually use it to call an old woman along with their name. The name of our nanny is Felisa and we call her ‘Nana Eling.’ My fondest memories with Nana was every time we go in the old park in the middle of the boulevard. We did it hundreds of times with my two brothers.

In the past few years, she experienced a slight loss of memory. Each time I see her, I will ask her what’s my name and she’ll mention my brother’s name and we laughed. She will apologize but that’s understandable.

Now, she’s resting but she had done a lot of things in her life. She passed away at the age of 97, she lived for almost a century long. Just imagine that. Very few people will reach that age. She was put in her resting bed this morning.
